Two BlackArch Officers Tabbed in '40 Under 40' Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Two BlackArch Partners officers have been recognized among the brightest young minds in the middle market by The M&A Advisor as part of the group’s “40 Under 40” awards program.

The honors acknowledge the work of two key members of the officer team that makes BlackArch a standout in thought leadership and execution among middle-market investment banks.

BlackArch directors Gordie Vap and Will Cooper both were honored by The M&A Advisor for their accomplishments.

Vap was a 40 Under 40 award winner for the Central region (which includes the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wisconsin, West Virginia and the District of Columbia), while Cooper was among 20 finalists named in the same region.

The M&A Advisor is a New York-based organization that covers middle-market M&A activity and recognizes industry excellence through seminars and awards programs.  Judging in the competition was by a panel of 11 leaders in middle-market M&A.

Cooper and Vap are both founders and owners of BlackArch, whose eight founding officers constitute the firm’s entire ownership.  Vap, a former Air Force pilot and graduate of the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, leads the firm’s Aerospace, Defense & Government Services practice.  Cooper, a graduate of Duke’s Fuqua School of Business and the former head of the Houston office of Edgeview Partners, co-leads BlackArch’s Energy and Infrastructure & Construction practices.
